Chaiiwala to open first Sussex site next month

A new restaurant offering a "fresh take" on Indian street food and chai tea is set to open on the high street next month.

Chaiiwala, which offers a range of Indian snacks as well as chai tea, is coming to Brighton and will take up an empty unit on Western Road.

The restaurant, which will offer both hot food and drinks, has branches across the UK with plans to expand even further in the next two years.

Madhu Upparlapalli, the franchisee of the new restaurant, said: “I have restaurants across Brighton and Sussex but this is something completely different.

“It’s the right fit for Brighton. The core product is the Karak chaii that isn’t like anything you’ll find in any other shops.”

The Western Road unit is the first Chaiiwala in Sussex and only the second south of London.
