Plymouth's new vegan restaurant with retro vibe is set to open

20 June 2023

Plymouth’s new vegan restaurant is due to open this month and will have a retro theme. Dimpsy’s Diner will open in Mayflower Street on June 22 and will have a 1950s and 1960s vibe including an old-fashioned jukebox.

Restauranteur Laura Scott, who turned her Conscious Candy vegan confectionery business into a £1.3m global enterprise, is behind the new venture. It will open in the unit which housed the Samphire Brasserie vegan restaurant for nine years.

She said: “I'm so excited to announce that Dimpsy's Diner will be opening on June 22. The diner will be filled with mid-century decor and will include our very own jukebox: Cee-Cee."

“That will be playing the best tunes from the 50s and 60s rock and roll Americana era. We will be serving American-themed fast-food such as hotdogs, loaded burgers, topped waffles, sundaes, thick milkshakes, funnel cake, tater tots, coke floats and more."
