Huge seafood restaurant, Manzi's, to open in Soho this month

08 June 2023

As the first new restaurant to be opened by The Wolseley Hospitality Group since it was formed following the departure of Jeremy King and Chris Corbin, all eyes are on Soho for the reveal of Manzi's.

The restaurant is named after the much-loved (but now closed) legendary London fish restaurant. It's not on the same site - the original Manzi's was where One Leicester Street is now - but was originally conceived as being "in tribute to the long lamented Leicester Square forefather that so many of us mourned its passing." Manzi's, for anyone who didn't go before it closed, was as Jay Rayner explains; "a great London restaurant when the city didn’t have enough of them."

The two-floored restaurant runs along Bateman’s Buildings, just off Soho Square and will be an all-day seafood-focused restaurant. They'll have a big terrace space and a private dining room too.

The menu's strongly seafood-focused, although there will meat and vegetarian dishes like Roast Landes chicken with potato rosti or Levantine spiced aubergine with chargrilled broccoli and labneh. Specialities include a monkfish Wellington and there'll be towering seafood platters, fish finger sandwiches, lobster rolls and - as with all their restaurants - a well-priced prix fixe.
