Fat Hippo opens in Soho 9 June

Newcastle-headquartered burger chain Fat Hippo is set to open its second site in London.

The company, established in 2010, will launch its site on Wardour Street in Soho on 9 June.

The venue, in the heart of London's West End, will include more than 100 covers, and becomes Fat Hippo's 17th nationwide location.

Earlier this year, the operator unveiled plans to expand its portfolio to more than 20 sites, creating dozens of jobs.

Michael Phillips, managing director, said: "Since our successful opening in Shoreditch, we have been focussed on looking for other locations in the city and Soho was top of our list, it has an amazing neighbourhood feel to it."

Operators director Michael Johnson added: "We're so excited to be opening in Soho. There is already a brilliant food scene here and it's great to now be a part of it. We can't wait for everyone to enjoy 'the good kind of gluttony' at our newest location."
